The Annual Great Valley Women's Retreat was a delightful time of fellowship and fun. Thirty four women met together at The Traber Center in Spring City on May 2nd and 3rd. Friday night included a delicious dinner followed by a cozy campfire complete with some joyful songs. Games followed with lots of laughter! The night owls among us even stayed up to watch a movie in the lounge (The Ultimate Gift).
Saturday brought 3 speaking sessions from our dear Great Valley friend, Sue Trope. Sue shared with us ways to be a good friend as well as ways we can make the time with our families more meaningful and memorable. What a joy to have a sister in Christ from our own congregation sharing from her heart.
 During the Free Time on Saturday afternoon, we worked on a craft for the Shut-Ins of Great Valley. Homemade cards and tins of inspirational quotes and verses were lovingly assembled for those in our church family who may need a lift now and then.
The most significant aspect of the Women's Retreat is getting to know other women, support them in their walk with the Lord and celebrate our bond in Jesus Christ. If you missed the retreat this year...don't despair, the 2009 Women's Retreat will be here before you know it!
So be planning now to keep May 1-2 open on your 2009 calendar - you won't want to miss it!
