“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,” (1 Peter 3:15)
Church community comes together to help Coatesville arson victims
Great Valley is joining with the Minister’s Alliance of Coatesville & Vicinity to
provide aid to the victims of the recent fires in Coatesville that have left
dozens homeless and without furniture, clothing and other personal
necessities. The pressing need at this time is for gently used clothing
in all sizes – outerwear (coats, gloves, hats), lightly worn shoes, men’s,
women’s and children’s jeans/casual pants and sweatshirts/hooded sweatshirts,
women’s sweaters and long-sleeved turtlenecks and shirts, and new
underwear and socks. We are also collecting gift cards to Walmart, Kohl’s
and Giant which have branches near Coatesville. Donations can be dropped
off in Dickerson Hall; there will be a s hoebox for collecting the gift cards
there as well.
Contact Jane Porter (610/933-2635) or any deacon with
questions.
Update:
Coatesville Relief organizers thank you for your generous response. They are presently looking for volunteers to help organize and distribute donated items.
Check www.coatesvillerelief.blogspot.com for contact information and drop-off locations for needed items. Call Cathy Gilbert (610-644-7510) if you have things you want taken to Coatesville. Until further notice, no more clothing should be
brought to church. Gift cards are still welcome.
