Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” (John 4:10)
Main thoughts: I. PHYSICAL needs illuminate SPIRITUAL concerns. II. Material ANALOGIES identify spiritual CONFUSION. III. Spiritual TRUTH introduces moral GUILT. IV. Moral HOLINESS involves spiritual WHOLENESS.
Summary: Life’s deepest needs are not PHYSICAL but SPIRITUAL. Only a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with the living God who made us can meet them. Do you hunger and thirst for a growing relationship with Him? Have you let physical pleasures crowd out spiritual pursuits?
