Christian Education Electives for November/December 2022

You can choose from two classes for this round of electives (click "read more" for full descriptions). Classes meet from 9am to 10am each Sunday morning. Your registration is helpful to us in determining the locations for our classes.

Gospels and the Kingdom of God

Led by Sandy Haney

The kingdom – or empire ­– of God is a recurring theme in Jesus’ teachings, parables, and miracles. In this class, we’ll study various passages in the Gospels related to this theme. As we compare Jesus’ empire to Rome’s empire, we’ll see how Jesus challenged Roman society and its values. We’ll also discuss how to apply Jesus’ teachings to our own lives as we seek to live as members of Jesus’ empire (kingdom). The class will include lecture and discussion.

Our Hands for His Glory

Led by the Missions Team

It is a Great Valley tradition to take time each fall to place a special emphasis on our congregation’s missions outreach.  This year, with the support of church leadership and countless individuals and committees, we celebrate how God is working in the world using Our Hands for His Glory!   Join us each Sunday in November and December during the Adult Christian Education Hour as the Missions Team presents a speaker or panel of speakers to share how God has led each of them to serve Him. Check the bulletin or weekly e-newsletter to see who is scheduled for the following Sunday.
